Jordy Woolley on REB The WIRE Podcast

“I had to really level up – in every aspect”

Rising to the challenge is where our Head of Asset Management and Creative Director Jordy Woolley thrives. Recently featured as a guest on the REB the WIRE Podcast, Jordy sat down with Grace Ormsby and Sadhana Smiles for an insightful conversation about “leveling up” and overcoming imposter syndrome in the highly competitive and fast-paced real estate industry.

Jordy first joined us at Molenaar + McNeice as an Asset Manager in July 2020. In February 2021 she was appointed Head of Asset Management and hit the ground running with her fierce drive and motivation to redefine what property management can look like. Jordy quickly adapted to being a hands-on property manager and successfully leading a six-man team with her people-centric focus. Then in early 2022, Jordy was also appointed Creative Director of the business in a new hybrid role. Jordy is an excellent leader and has made waves across departments at Molenaar + McNeice through driving dynamic and innovative growth.

Last year Jordy was named Property Manager of the Year – Regional at the Women in Real Estate Awards 2021. This title recognises Jordy’s outstanding influence on the Australian real estate industry as a leader and role model championing positive change in the industry.

In talking to Grace and Sadhana, Jordy shared that it was the lasting impression of a property manager who helped her Mum flee a domestic violence situation as a child that sparked her own interest in real estate. Jordy emphasised that the way you make a client feel is what sticks with them so authenticity is important to create a lasting impression and to build strong relationships, true to Jordy’s genuine character.

Jordy prioritises collaboration. She is always there for our team to lean on and likewise our team is there to support her. You’ve probably heard the saying ‘you can’t look after others if you don’t look after yourself’ and Jordy cannot stress this enough! When you show up to work as a leader, you need to be switched on for anything thrown your way and self-care is paramount to make sure you’re in the right headspace for this. Meditating, particularly ThinkLadder, has helped Jordy be more present and able to conquer the day.

Jordy also touches on the importance of having a mentor network both personally and professionally to keep you inspired. Jordy and the Molenaar + McNeice team regularly work with real estate coach Josh Phegan, and that training combined with Jordy’s colleagues, friends and family mean Jordy is well supported in her career journey.

The WIRE: Overcoming imposter syndrome is available to listen to now. We can’t wait to see how Jordy continues to grow and evolve! Listen here:
