ALBION PARK RAIL

NSW 2527

Albion Park Rail is situated along the southern edge of Lake Illawarra to the east of Albion Park.

Albion Park and Albion Park Rail are linked suburbs with a 2km distance between them, divided by the Princes Highway and Illawarra Highway. The South Coast railway line was opened to Albion Park Station in 1887 and because the Albion Park township was some distance away, houses soon started to be built closer to the station making Albion Park Rail a village of its own.

Albion Park Rail enjoys eased traffic congestion with the recent construction of the Albion Park Rail bypass. The village features a community centre, sports fields and industrial retail businesses. Albion Park Rail is also home to the Illawarra Regional Airport. Less than 10 minutes drive to Shellharbour, 15 minutes to Wollongong and only 2 hours by train to Sydney.
