Scarborough is located in the northern end of the Illawarra, 21km north of the centre of Wollongong. There is a fantastic beach with stunning views of the coastline and cliffs that lie above.

There are parklands perfect for family picnics, and a surf club where the talented Scarborough Boardriders club is headquartered.

The beach is zoned orange meaning that there is time sharing to allow for on-leash dog access - times are dependent on the season.

The most historic building in Scarborough would have to be The Scarborough Hotel. It opened back in 1887 and still stands, and is actually the reason Scarborough is called Scarborough (formally South Clifton until 1903).

You can get to Scarborough by jumping on a train and getting off at Scarborough Station - a heritage-listed station. There is a free commuters car park for those that need to head up to Sydney,
