Wollongong

NSW 2500

What is not to like about this amazing location!? Wollongong has just blossomed in the past couple of years. It has always been geographically fortunate, blessed with beautiful beaches and far and close enough to its big sister Sydney. Far enough away to be a refreshing weekend getaway out of the big smoke, and close enough to be the perfect location to live while still working and seeing friends and family in Sydney.

And if you like the idea of living where you can walk to the beach, have space to yourself on the beach, swim in the spectacularly placed sea pools and then stroll over to a cafe for a delicious brunch then Wollongong, or the surrounding suburbs are for you.

If you don’t want to jump in the deep end and buy straight away, then you can test the waters with renting in Wollongong or the wider Illawarra. That is exactly what I did, my first experience of Wollongong was on Crown Street! It took me not even 5 minutes to walk to the train station to head up to the Sydney CBD, and then I could grab a bite to eat from one of the many quality restaurants on the way home, walk along the Blue Mile that is teaming with families, couples, fitness enthusiasts and then pop into a funky bar for a drink with friends.

Wollongong has established itself as a thriving 21st century destination, not only to visit but to live. It offers a lifestyle that few can compete with, providing a stunning escarpment backdrop that peters down to the endless stretch of beach that is enjoyed around the clock by the locals, swimming, sunbathing, exercising, building sand castles and more.

Wollongong really is the lifestyle capital of New South Wales. Located just 90 minutes from Sydney it’s easy enough to get to your CBD job and friends, and then escape to where the air is fresher, the beaches more pristine and the stunning bush walks right on your back door.
